I have to say I think Italy's World Cup win was a victory for negative football and diving. How very ironic that a nation where the macho male is so venerated won the World Cup based on the fact that any time anyone came within two feet of them, they fell over screaming.
I will definitely teach my kids to play football, but never the way Italy played.
Hopefully in four years time, the cup will be won by a team that plays the game in the spirit it was intended.

Yeah, its sad that so called negative football won the day.
But isn't this the beauty of football.
Think about it. If we were all the same, wouldn't this world be dull and boring? We need variety.
So, probably, a dark horse like Italy isn't such a bad thing. They may not play pretty football but they sure evoke emotions that makes everyone want to beat their 'dirty' game and makes them want to beat everyone else.
This is the power of the beautiful game!
